Backhands are KING for volleys

Universal Rackets argues body-line and close balls belong on the backhand face: paddle out, turn sideways, extend — not a jammed forehand into your torso.

Pros can hit forehands there only when they create space (the “scorpion”); without space, default BH covers your body and keeps you unjammed.

  • Drill body-line feeds with a BH-only rule
  • Cue “paddle out, turn, extend” on every close ball
  • Use FH only when you clearly have space to the side
