If You Struggle With Dinking, Just Do This Before Every Shot

Coach Austin Hardy’s one technique for most dinks: one continuous load-and-push as the ball arrives — not load, pause, then hit.
Prep early with the feet (like a fielder getting to the ball before opening the mitt) so acceleration through contact stays one motion on dead, neutral, and offensive dinks.

Action items:

  • Load while the bounce is coming, then push through in one motion
  • Move the feet first so the paddle isn’t late
  • Use the same continuous cue on wide and neutral dinks
